Octopath Traveler is not only an homage to JRPGs from the 16-bit era, but it also pushes the genre forward by implementing new battle mechanics never before utilized in JRPGs. The game includes eight short stories rather than the traditional story of one group of characters venturing out together.

GameSkinny gave it a 9/10. Check out our review and find out why we call it “a return to form for Square-Enix.”
