The restaurant celebrated its Grand Opening on Friday, October 27th. Chef Alana O’Neal drew from a year spent in Montpellier, France for Les Arceaux’s delectable menu and elegant design. Les Arceaux is French for “the arches” and refers to the arches of an old stone aqueduct in the Southern French town of Montpellier, under which a regional organic farmer’s market is held. O’Neal immersed herself in the local culture by learning about local ingredients and traditional French recipes.

The restaurant’s opening is a win-win for diners and community alike; it aims to serve as a modern, airy destination for locally sourced, innovative cuisine. Les Arceaux doubles as a teaching kitchen to offer employees job training beyond their immediate employment tasks and college credits. Atmosphere-wise, Les Arceaux incorporates elements including Carrera marble tabletops, bar seating, and a mix of textures and materials such as caramel floors to keep space approachable and inviting.

Les Arceaux, too, will offer three regular beers on tap, as well as fermentations by the bottle and, of course, a seasonal spritz menu. Daily food items will consist of seasonal soups served alongside a warm baguette slice, seasonally available salads, finger sandwiches, and both charcuterie and cheese platters.

For a more hearty, full-feeling meal, diner menu items—like Castelvetrano Tapenade with Crostini    with Roquefort, Arugula Salad with Farro, Poached Quince, Walnuts, Pickled Red Onion and Roquefort, served with Lemon Vinaigrette, and much mor —can be had in all their temporal abundance, when the sun decides to sit below the horizon.
