Earlier this week, we took some time to speak with the museum’s Curator of Arts, Carin Adams, on a few exclusive insights on what we can expect from the creative duo spearheading the installation, Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III.

“Every walk through of the exhibit is meant to be a malleable experience. The social aspect of it is front and center,” says Adams in response to what gallery attendees will likely see meandering through the indoor gallery. “Make a friend while rummaging atop the AstroTurf and listening to the soundtracks of the natural landscapes of both Florida and California. The exhibit goers complete the entire immersive experience.”

And, as if the Pop-Up Shop supplied LED hula hoops and in-gallery hammocks weren’t enough, you can stop by Friday night during the exhibit’s running to grab a drink and collect yourselves for a bit at the Cash Bar and Lounge.

So, gang,  lift your heads up from your smartphones for an hour or two,  and re-engage with all your sensory inputs. (But, still: don’t forget to snap an IG still before heading out the door.)

// Nature’s Gift will be on display from October 7th through January 21st at OMCA; tickets can be bought here or at the door; 1000 Oak St, Oakland.
