While the newswires await any official information regarding the OnePlus 3, alleged leaked images of the handset have begun making rounds online. It is rumoured that around May 18th there would be official announcement from OnePlus, regarding a June launch for the phone. Nonetheless, for now, all there is to go on are these images and other rumours surrounding the device.
Though the front of the phone does not boast anything special at first glance, with its shape being similar to the OnePlus 2, the home button is reminiscent of an Oppo R9. Given the trend of embedding fingerprint sensors in the home button, it is highly probable the OnePlus 3 would have the same technology as was the case for its predecessor. The rear of the device shows antennae bands similar to the HTC One M9 in both placement and design. Though it is understandable that every device needs an antennae, and that with the trend of sealed phones these bands have to be present on the body, OnePlus could have contemplated using a design that wouldn’t look like an obvious copy. Though the images give little other detail about the specifications of the device, this particular leak features a device that has 64GB storage space, is pre-shipped with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and runs OxygenOS 3.0.0 right from the box. The specs for the OnePlus are rumoured to be:
Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM / 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera 3500mAh battery featuring the 5V 4A low voltage Dash Charge technology
The phone is expected to be priced at CN ¥1999 (US $310) for the 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant while the 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM is expected to be US $384. Are you looking forward to the new OnePlus flagship killer, the OnePlus 3, to be launched later this year? Let us know in the comments.
