Ordering an Uber for someone using their phone

It was a Saturday morning, and she and her grandkids were supposed to go to the church. Since I wasn’t going with them, I had to book an Uber for them. I downloaded the Uber app on her phone. Even though it was not necessary to download the app.

The reason I had to, was because it was a means to teach easily and to enable Uber alerts on her phone. Her phone storage was almost full, so I had to delete some things first.

Through the app I downloaded on her phone, I created an account for her, chose ‘cash’ as the mean of payment, and then I booked a ride for them. I inputted the woman’s address. However, because the woman’s exact location is not easy to find on the app, I chose a hotel near their house as a landmark.

I selected a vehicle that will carry them to their destinations. The app matched them to the nearest driver. The app displayed information on the driver’s first name, car type, and license plate number. This information will assist the two of you in connecting at your pickup location. I called the matched driver to describe the location he/his are to come to.

The woman then sent her grandkids (with her phone and also with instructions to pick up the driver’s call) to a designated location. The kids gave the driver the exact direction to their place.

I taught her all the necessary information she needed. I told her to make sure not to close the app. This is because, if she closes the app, she would be able to know the actual amount charged for the fare.

Your journey finishes when you arrive at your destination and depart the car. Your fare is automatically computed and charged to the payment method you’ve linked to your Uber account.

Ordering an Uber for someone from my phone – a step by step

Imagine you want your sibling to come over to your place but you do not have the time to bring her. Uber has made it possible. With or without them having the app, you can book a ride for them to pick them up where they are to where you want them to.

If you’re using the Uber app to arrange a pickup location that is different from your current location, the app will inquire if the ride is for you, or “Someone Else.” After you pick “Someone Else,” you may add their contact information to the request (manually or via your “Device Contact”). Enter their destination.

Then, request a vehicle for them. When the trip is confirmed, they will receive an SMS from Uber with the driver’s expected arrival time, name, license plate number, and car/model of the car.

Step by step

At the top of the screen, tap “For Me. ”Select “Add a rider. ”Type their contact information. Type their contact information. Choose their contact information (name or number) manually or via your “Device Contact”. Ensure the information selected is the correct one. Then press the “Next” button. Then hit “Add rider. ”From the top of the screen, tap and choose the preferred rider. Provide their pickup address. Then, their destination information. Choose the car class. Choose the means of payment (your saved card or cash)Submit your request.

Conclusion

If a driver is unable to locate the place (maybe because the pickup or destination is a “lonely place”, the driver does not know the place or their vehicle Brock down, etc., they will request you cancel the ride and book another one.

After the ride, you could (if you wish) give them any number of the star(s) 1-5. Depending on the person you are booked the ride for is satisfied with the driver.
